Sri Lanka Missions Program
Over the last couple of years, the bridge has invested deeply in the nation of Sri Lanka. We have started to send our own to this nation to help in their post-civil war rebuilding process and share the love of Jesus.
Dave and Radhika (along with their children Ryan and Renee) have been called by God to support the recovery process in Sri Lanka and help draw the people of that nation closer to Jesus. As members of the bridge community, we are blessed to be able to send out our own to bring life and hope to a hurting people. Dave is working with a local NGO, Lanka Evangelical Alliance Development Services (LEADS), to coordinate their work in several villages and refugee camps. Currently, their work includes livelihood projects designed to create sustainable income for displaced peoples living in and leaving refugee camps as well as poverty stricken villages. Theses projects include providing materials (e.g., boats, livestock, sewing machines) as well as job education and training in how to market products. Recent work has also included building permanent shelters, running Vacation Bible Camps, and working with a program called ESCAPE (Eradication of Sexual Child Abuse, Prostitution, and Exploitation) to protect children in danger and prevent abuse.
If you wish to specifically support the work Dave and Radhika are doing, you can do so by writing a cheque made out to the bridge. Simply designate in the memo line or on an offering envelope that it is for Sri Lanka or the Chellaiah’s.
Check out the LEADS website to watch a video explaining the work they do.

Over the summers of 2010 and 2011, members of the Anandarajan family have traveled to Sri Lanka to do training for teachers and school administrators as well as support the ministry of local churches. This has included professional learning workshops, school evaluation and long term planning support, and curriculum development. Their whole family traveled there together in 2011 and with the support of their older children, Dilshan and Leanna, has added programs in physical education and music instruction. In partnership with churches, they have run Vacation Bible Camps and equipped churches through training in worship leading and by preaching and teaching. They have also assisted the Pooneryn community by helping start livelihood projects in the form of sewing centres and poultry farms.
