Worship

C.S. Lewis said that "it is in the process of worship that God reveals Himself to us". The God of the universe, the Creator of all, longs to reveal Himself to those who would fall before Him losing themselves to find Him. God Himself invites us, through his Son, to revel in His presence...to fall at His feet...to climb up into His lap. That’s the beauty of worship. It doesn’t dictate how we come before Him...it just asks us to come. We can dance for joy...cry out in pain...celebrate his grace...or be silent and still. We simply come as we are bringing all the circumstances of life with us.

So how can it be that the eternal God of the universe would invite us into His everlasting arms? Because he longs for community as well. He put us together knowing the pieces that would complete us, and worship is a gigantic one of those pieces. Worship is actually the way we live life as the Bible talks about when it says that we should "Take our everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life – and place it before God as an offering". (Romans 12:1) It’s all worship! The way we treat each other, the way we drive, the places we go. Everything we do reflects our worship and it also reflects who we’re worshipping. We don’t come to church to worship. We come to church to worship together! Worship does not start and stop. We worship with every breath…not just when we open our mouth to sing! Worship is unceasing. We are all called to be unquenchable worshippers. Whatever form that may take in any given moment, our worship survives any situation and lives through any circumstance.

So…what is the Bridge Arts Team (BAT)?
It’s made up of all of us singers, musicians, creative and technical types that help make our services at the bridge the celebrations they are each week. There are so many pieces and parts that come together. The planning teams, the musicians, the sound and audio, the video and visual, the direction, the crew members. All of these elements fuse to create a great worship experience here at the bridge. It may seem from a cursory glance that we have all we need but there is always room for people whose passions fall in these areas.
